“Because yesterday’s extraordinary becomes today’s banality, and today’s extreme becomes tomorrow’s norm” – the slogan of the Year of Lem, taken from the novel Qatar, takes on a special meaning in the context of the accelerating development of technology, which increasingly marks the human attitude towards the world. In his work, Stanisław Lem foresaw a technological future – robots, machines, devices and information techniques, which in his books were only products of science fiction, today are the norm and co-create our everyday life.

The exhibition “LEM constellation: technology – criticism – art” is a commentary to the reality marked by technology. She is convinced that intermedia art, whose “natural environment” is the space of technical achievements, shows the beauty inherent in technology, but at the same time plays a critical role, pointing to its threats. Stanisław Lem’s output is an invaluable source of inspiration and hints for the artists creating this exhibition.
